New Potential Member!

I have been excited to work with a saxaphone player throughout the entire time I’ve been playing music. Finally, Uncle Bucket has found a potential new member that will play saxaphone for our live performances. Mellisa Welch from portage has been practicing with us for a few weeks and is working out quite nicely at this point. We will be debuting her skills with us at our last show of the year! We will be playing at the Franklin House in Valparaiso on December 21st. That’s a friday! So if you are interested in hearing our new sounds, that will be the first real opportunity to check it out and tell us what you think. I am personally excited for this show because of all the giveaways and the costume contest. We always have a good crowd at FH, so I expect nothing less. Hope to see you all there!

Updated Shows List!

Here is a list of Uncle Bucket’s upcoming shows:

October 27th – Cronies Bar and Grill, Kouts Indiana, 10 pm

November 16th – Loop Bar and Grill, Laporte Indiana, 6 pm

Unfortunately these are the only two we currently have booked! But look forward to us performing (in the near future) at Duffy’s, Franklin House, and Figure 8 Brewing all located out of Valparaiso, Indiana.

You can also catch me with my other band Stop.Drop.Rewind at these locations/times:

November 16th – Figure Eight Brewing, Valparaiso Indiana, after 10 pm

November 24th – The Elboroom, Chicago Illinois, around 9 pm

Recent shows going well!

Recently, Uncle Bucket has been adapting to the changing seasons! Our newest member, Wes Rettinger, played his first show with us last weekend on October 20th! We performed some new tunes are the Franklin House in valparaiso indiana! The event was hosted by the bands The Energy Comission and Planetary Blues–and they invited us up to play a set in front of a crowd of about 100 people for about an hour. We performed some classic tunes such as SugarLoaf’s “Green Eye’d Lady”

The mission was a success! Everyone seemed to enjoy our set and Wes was accepted with open arms! If you are looking forward to hearing us with our new member come check us out at our next gig! We will be performing at Cronies Bar and Grill in Kouts, Indiana. The date is October 27th! We will be starting around 10 pm! Check out our facebook page for more information! Thanks everyone!

New Adventures with Uncle Bucket

It has been a long journey for the main group I play with– Uncle Bucket. The guitarist and myself have been creating music together for over 6 years; although we have not always called our group by the same name, it has consisted of some core people that have maintained a great influence on our lives. Uncle Bucket has developed to the point now that we are becoming a recognized local name; something that was much harder to accomplish than I ever would have imagined when I first started playing music.

We have some upcoming shows:

• September 19th 2012 – Sportsman’s Bar; South Haven IN; @ 9 PM
• October 2nd 2012- Alley Pub; Chicago IL; @ 10 PM
• October 6th 2012- The Old Heritage Inn; Hebron IN; @ 10 PM
• November 16th 2012- ? ; Laporte IN; @ 8 PM
• November 30th 2012- Franklin House Bar; Valparaiso IN; @ 10 PM

So if you are interested in seeing the development of our sound, and the guys that create the sound, come on out to one of these dates.

We are currently working towards a new recording contract that will hopefully provide with a great sounding full-length album; our first!
In order to do this, we must make some $ ! We are selling our brand new t-shirts for 12$ at all of our upcoming shows, as well as online.

Dressed to Impress

Playing some drums at a show several months ago! Dressed up for some reason I cannot remember.. playing fully clothed is always a little more challenging!

First Post! – What this blog will include :

I am planning on keeping this blog updated regularly with the events in my life that revolve around drumming! I have some shows coming up, new gear I’m testing, and plenty of tips/advice to share with everyone! So if you’re anything like me; you will certainly find something of interest in what I have to share in this blog. I hope that everyone feels free to express their opinions in favor or against my own; I have my own biases when it comes to style, gear, techniques, etc. I’m looking forward to sharing information about shows I will play with my bands, and I hope that you get something out of it or that you can even share advice or stories with ME in return!
